I built my first Venture 2 years ago,it was my third plane. On its maiden flight all was well untill I cut loose with the throttle. The flutter started and then a loud POP. Still having control I came around for a quick landing. An inspection revealed two shear webs had imploded in one wing panel, and the flutter had come from the ailerons because I had lost turning authority. Repairs were made but I was still nervous flying after that. My solution was to shorten the wingspan by 12 inches (That 72 inch wingspan was just to much for quick manuvers).Unfortunatly V-1 came to an early retirement, but V-2 with the same modifications and an RJL 61 engine is a hot number that I,ll enjoy flying for a long time. (I hope ;).
