The tuned pipe doesn't concern me if you fly with common sense and use the transmitter's left stick properly!
Retracts add a whole layer of complexity, particularly because the wing isn't stressed for landing loads to begin with. You'll not only have to engineer the mounting of the gear, but you'll have to beef up the center of the wing and the ribs to take the landing loads. Not saying it can't be done (because it certainly can), but you're looking at some major redesign, extra weight, and complexity.
No doubt it will look cool though!
